Gurminder's practice encompasses a wide range of litigation matters, including commercial, family and insurance. As a trial lawyer, he has received successful resolutions before the BC Human Rights Tribunal. He is known for being a steady hand under pressure and enjoys working closely with clients to distill complex issues. Clients value Gurminder’s experience as he proactively assesses cases early, seeing if there’s a likelihood of a favourable and cost-effective resolution, or where necessary, a need to see matters through trial.
Gurminder serves as an elected Law Society Bencher for Westminster County and has been elected multiple times by his peers to the Canadian Bar Association (BC) Provincial Council. He has a decade of experience on the Provincial Judicial Advisory Committee, along with two years on the BC Federal Judicial Advisory Committee.
Gurminder is passionate about sharing his knowledge with the next generation of lawyers. He has assisted the PLTC program by guiding students during their civil trial and chambers exercises, as well as revising the civil litigation course material and has been a regular speaker and conference chair at various continuing legal education conferences.
In working to enhance access to justice, Gurminder currently volunteers with AC Friends of Court and Access Pro Bono. In 2025, he was awarded the Harry Rankin, QC Pro Bono Award by the Canadian Bar Association (BC).
